WELCOME TO THE NEW PIKE COUNTY ARCHIVES AND HISTORY SOCIETY WEBSITE
We are an organization dedicated to collecting and preserving materials that document the unique history of Pike County, Arkansas and its people. Our main interest is to gather as much Pike County history and genealogy of its citizens from when Pike County was first organized by an act of the Arkansas Territorial Legislature on November 1, 1833.
Our archives house over 500 Pike County original record books dating back to 1895, which includes early tax records, deeds, maps, photos, mortgages, and more. The collection of materials also includes family histories, census records, micro-film, publications and other materials for historical and genealogy research.
Our facility is located on the square in Murfreesboro Arkansas, with a sign over the door. We are open to the public Tuesday through Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. A volunteer will be happy to help you get started on your journey to discover your ancestors. Our phone number is 870-285-9157.

Our web site is supported in part by a grant from the Arkansas Humanities Council, the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the United States Congress.
We are supported by memberships of $25.00 a year from those who have joined. With your membership, you receive our quarterly publication called “THE GEMS”. Donations are accepted with a grateful heart. Our working members are all volunteers in which we do out of love for the history of Pike County and its people.
